Disc2 of FF7 not treating me well..
Aside from the problems I had with changing discs from the 1st to the 2nd using Petes Plugin (it simply crashes epsxe when I try continuing/changing disc), now the game seems to just stop completely.
Where I'm at is supposedly early in the second disc (havent played FF7 before, dont know where exactly), its just when Cloud is figuring stuff out about himself, and the many conversations with Sephiroth in his little "fake" Nibelhelm world. Cloud just floated upto some tree branch on the top of the screen, and the MDEC starts where he places the black materia to the blue orb of (pure materia?) goop, then the huge robot-like monster comes out and races off, and the airship rides out, and the screen darkens and fades to black. After the screen turns black, it stays black, nothing else happens. I know its not part of an MDEC because my computer light isnt blinking. I can still use Esc to goto windows, but I cant use common plugin functions like Pete's Loadstate windows that appear in the upper right corner. I've tried using Pete's D3D Plugin and Kazzuya's Soft Plugin 1.6 Beta, the only 2 plugins that work with an 8MB ATI Rage Pro. Still nothing but a frozen black screen. Is this a common problem point? Because all of the game thus far has been flawless in terms of speed and reliability (besides the fact that I cant save the game, but savestates are better anyway). Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about and how to fix this? I dont think I left anything out.. hehe |

My video card is more than enough to play any playstation game, FF7 is one of the less graphical games I have on my computer (they're all ISOs), and I wish the framerate was lower, I dont limit the framerate at all and it goes from 65-75, but if I try limiting the framerate, it drops to like 30fps constantly.
Anywho, I fixed the problem by just burning another ISO and deleting the old one. I used ISO Buster and it didnt say there were any errors when I burnt the first one, and none on the second one, so I dunno.. maybe even if there's no problems, there can still be flaws in the ISO. |

Hit F4 before and after you save the game. Worked for me.

As it's stated in some threads around, the use of savestates are provided "as is". It may work, or may not. So basically, if you can save in a memory card (pressing F4 before and after the save, or creating a new memcard for the game) it *might* be solved. I say might, because every computer is different, and it may not solve your problem. Anyway, good luck and don't give up!
