annoying problem in FF8 - video related

i use PeteOpenGL 1.52
Geforce2 gts 32 MB
i get this problem most of the time when the PC takes over the characters in 'pre rendered' scenes

links when Zell shows up, after the 'boat' has to shore on the island where the exam on the field is taking place ...
quite annoying bug PLEASE HELP

Try the software plug-in and see if this problem still shows up. Also try making an iso if you haven't already or running off of the original cd if you're using an iso.

are you using ePSXecutor, by any chance? If so, you might've accidentaly disabled MDEC.

If you're currently not using ePSXecutor, download it and use it to enable MDECs

can i still play with iso's then?
i tried and it only starts up cds in tray

ok your sollution fixed one problem: the textboxes are now normal
but still one last problem: the cutscenes are now grey

Are you using saved states? If so what you first need to do is load a regular memcard game using f4, then after that game is loaded then you can recall the saved state and then that should fix it for awhile, you may need to reboot and repeat the process later on after awhile depending upon how often you load saved states.
