52x cdrom drive and still slow movies..

I have a 52x AOpen cdrom drive and when i get to movies in ANY game, they are VERY choppy, i thought that my 52x would be fast enough to run them nicely, i guess not. is there anyway to speed them up without making an iso? (they are WAY too big) thanks. ::cdrom drive:: :mg:

didn't you already open a thread concerning this? The mods don't like duplicates you know. See my post in the other thread.

Depends on your pc's specifications. A 52x cdrom will not have fast mdecs on a pentium 200, 32mb.

well you see just cause it says 52x doesnt mean it will read at that speed (i dunno why). for example when i used my cousins cpu it had a 52x cdrom drive but was only reading at 3x (very slow). my cpu has a 8x dvd-rom drive that does good though

did you enable dma for your cdrom in control panel

you can try to limit your cdrom speed to 4x with pete's cdrom plugin

sometimes it can't be helped, some cdrom is just not good for ps games.

Try to use Pete's CD-rom plugin and his speed limiting feature which helps in better emulation. Either that or its your pc, tell us your config. Oh and ISOs aren't that bad, especially with the price of HD's going down so fast, you can easily get 40GB for under $80.
hope something in this helps you. good luck.

Try running Force Aspi, it's a tool to update your aspi drivers for your cd-rom. Sorry, i'm lazy i don't know what the link is. My friend has a 32x aopen, and his did the same thing until i ran force aspi on his machine....
If you can't find it, i'll get off my can and find the link for you, let me know ok?
