Yes, those are the latest official Windows 98/ME drivers from Nvidia, they should be in a self extracing exe. you should be able to just run it without a problem.

there are newer drivers for win 9x (12.90) but you have to manually install them.

one last thing before you install, its a stupid question, but are you running windows 2000 or windows 98/ME

I've sent you a private message, I do not want to take up anymore room on this board to troubleshoot this problem.

Sorry to come back to this thread, but I just realized why it didn't work! This will be important to other readers though it belongs in a different board. (sorry bobbi)

ok we had this exact same problem with 4 new dell's at work, they wouldn't take the manufacture's reference drivers that were packaged in exe files. It kept giving strange errors, non valid exe's etc.

the only way around this is to manually install the drivers.

please go here to get the latest drivers

www.3dchipset.com

Once you download the correct driver package, unzip them in to a temporary directory.

now follow these instructions EXACTLY (you may want to write them down)

Windows 98
----------

To prepare for installation of the drivers

1 Start Microsoft Windows 98.

2 Click the Start button, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.

3 Double-click Display, and click the Settings tab.

4 Click Advanced, click the Adapter tab, then click Change.

5 Click Next, click Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so
you can select the driver you want, then click Next.

6 Select Show all Hardware button, then select the Standard display types from
the Manufacturers list.

7 Select Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA) from the list, then select Next.

8 Click Next to install the driver, then click Finish.

9 Click Apply, then click Close.

10 Click Yes when Windows asks if you wish to restart the computer.

To install the drivers

1 Click the Start button, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.

2 Double-click Display, and click the Settings tab.

3 Click Advanced, click the Adapter tab, then click Change.

4 Click Next, click Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so
you can select the driver you want, then click Next.

5 Click Have Disk, select or type the path to the folder containing the driver
files, then click OK.

Windows should find files for your NVIDIA graphics chip. If Windows cannot
find the files, check that the path name for the driver files is correct.

6 If Windows found the files, click OK, then click Next.

Windows copies the files to the hard disk.

7 Click Finish, click Apply, then click Close.

8 Click Yes when Windows asks if you wish to restart the computer.
-----------------------------------------------------

after you are done with the upgrade, you can delete the folder.

You could delete the folder, but I like to keep a couple of versions on my HD just in case I want to switch them out for compatability reasons.
