Red face Re: My Start screen is: Memory Crad or some CD Player

My CD-ROM is Creative CD-ROM 48X, could you suggest a better CD Plugins. Right Now i'm using TSG MSCDEX.
After the BIOS pop up appears, I pressed Esc. button, and then I see a Dos command behind the ePSXe windows. The dos command is failed to search d:/sistem.nfo. IS this the real problem, can you help me fixing it? Why it's searching in d:/ not d:\ ??? Notes: my CD ROM is D:

Tks, very much and still waiting for your reply...:eyes:

Re: My Start screen is: Memory Crad or some CD Player

I'm assuming that your running Windows 9x/Me. I would make sure that in your cdrom setup screen that you choose your cdrom drive letter in the config cdrom window, and the hit the configure window and make sure that you have set the tsg msxcdex plugin to the same drive letter. Failing that, you may want to try dumping the cd image to your hard disk with cdrwin (http://www.goldenhawk.com) or isobuster (http://www.ping.be/vcd/isobuster.htm) .

configure your cd-rom driver and make sure that you select the correct cd-rom.

Unhappy Re: My Start screen is: Memory Crad or some CD Player

Thank you very much to UncleClive for the information, now I can run my ePSXe

But if I choose Video: Pete's OpenGL 1.48 (cause I heard it's the best for TNT2), I get an error message from WinMe. And I can't play it still. I used Nvidia Riva TNT2 M64.

Tks Administrator & UncleClive!!!

Re: My Start screen is: Memory Crad or some CD Player

What is the exact error that windows gives you?

You can try Pete's soft gpu to play with until you figure out what is wrong since it is the most compatible, but slower that the others........

Does WinME have built-in drivers for TNT2? If so, M$ built-in drivers do not include an OpenGL driver [normally, nor Glide if the card is 3dfx], so you would need to load the latest nVidia reference drivers to be able to use accelerated OpenGL.
Try Pete's D3D driver, and see if that works.

Angry Re: My Start screen is: Memory Crad or some CD Player

I already used Detonator 3 (the latest Nvidia driver), and I already try different setting in in Pete's Open GL 1.48, but the result is always the same.

I've just defrag my hard disk, and hope that the error is come from there but it still can't. If I used Pete's D3D or Pete's Software, it works. But in Pete's D3D the game was running fast like hell but sometimes slow (I already used Nice setting) . In Pete's software, everything looks so cool but the game works so slow.

Oh yes I play ISS Pro Evo 2, soccer game.

The error message was (If I used Pete's OpenGL):
"EPSXE has caused an error in <unknown>. EPSXE will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer."
And from yesterday, I've already restarting from around 15-20 times

Btw, Lewpy, why don't you make a TNT GPU Program too?

Tks everybody

Well, I have my hands full with my current plugin, I don't have an nVidia card, and Pete's plugins are doing an fantastic job

Re: My Start screen is: Memory Crad or some CD Player

"Epsxe has caused an error in <blank>" seems (at least in my system) like the SPU plugin has crashed.....it either crashes directx (dxhlp or sothing like that) or the system becomes unstable.......

Can you post ALL your plugins and their settings?

Re: My Start screen is: Memory Crad or some CD Player

Hi Dracko,

I used GPU: Pete's OpenGL 1.48 (either Fast or Nice setting)
SPU: Null's2 1.3 (I'm not changing the default settings)
CDROM: TSGMSCDEX 1.2
Other than that I used recommended sugestion as in the ePSXe manual.

I used DirectX8, My comp PII-400, Riva TNT2 M64, Detonator 3

Tks.

Re: My Start screen is: Memory Crad or some CD Player

Have you tried using different SPU plugins? It seems to me that the internal SPU is the most compatible, so that might help you.....

For reference, my setup is this:
Pete's OpenGl 1.48 Windowed @ 800x600
Standard filtering
R4 B4 G4 A4 texture quality
Dynamic caching
USE FPS limit/Auto detect FPS limit
Standard offscreen drawing
Framebuffer textures: GFX card buffer
Multipass, Mask bit and advanced blending enabled
Unfiltered framebuffer and color dithering enabled.

Using this on my geforce 2 with the latest detonator drivers gives me few/no graphical problems with almost all games.

I use the internal SPU, enable ALL the options in the config sound screen, and I use the epsxe cdr aspi core as my cdrom plugin.

I would recommend trying a different SPU plugin, and failing that, erase your epsxe directory (save your bios, save states and memcards!!) and redownload the epsxe installer (is the installer up to date as far as plugins??) and try again......... I've had to do that in the past myself.......

Try re-instaling Direct-X to fix the problem.

If the reason for the error message is in the sound plugin use the "no sound" plugin, and if it doesn`t work your problem is in the grafics plugin.
