Exclamation Chronocross and Radeon 8500

Hey, I have a P4 1.7 with 512 DDR ram
and an ATI radeon 8500.

Chronocross runs really choppy during battles on either pete's OpenGL or direct3d, and that's using a resolution of 800 X 600.

Any clues on the ideal video setup for the radeon 8500? (oh and i have latest drivers)

And one more thing, im using the PAL version of chronocross (so i can see the item menu.)

THanks!

I didn't think there was a pal version of Chrono Cross! Have you tried setting the Framerate to 65? That sometimes helps.

If that doesn't work then try using pete's soft driver. The graphics might be fuzzy depending on your comp but the battle will work fine.

Well, i converted it to PAL by editing the ISO of the NTSC version. (only way to see the items using ePSXe or VGS)

And that setup u have fore the DX6 plugin, it looks like its for a completely different video card.

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there with a radeon 8500 and Chronocross and ePSXe.

I'd like to know what the optimal setup is for that video card and game.

Thanks guys!

Well, this isn't the solution... I just find it a helpful tip to play this game on 640x480 cause even on 800x600 it's a HUGE difference in performance... anyway, with screen smoothing and FSAA I think 640x480 is the optimal resolution.
