You have to earn them, the stars I mean. Usless posts, spam posts, etc. will get you nothing, except maybe banned. If some people's post counts and stars seem odd, it is because of some server problems a while back. Bobbi posted about this on the main page. Most everything is back to normal and fine again, but some things still show the effects.
As for the sound plugin, I know of one that works perfectly, in fact I am using it. But due to certain circumstances, I can not say what it is. Just be patient and the sound will continue to improve.

i think it's veritas spu, sxamiga.... but i don't want it. original is the best way to live (for plugins and even for cds)
