Hello. I am running ePSXe v1.51 and I am trying to load FF8. However, whenever I try to load it I end up with that Square Soft Corporation stuff, the white text, and then it gets crossed out by TV lines or something. Then it just freezes. The program can quit out, but the game freezes, for some reason. I am running this on a WinXP computer.
Here is my graphics: Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.60 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: RIVA TNT2/AGP/SSE Resolution/Color: - 400x300 Window mode - Keep psx aspect ratio: off Textures: - R4G4B4A4 - Filtering: 0 - Garbage collection: on - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: off - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: 200 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 2 - Framebuffer texture: 1 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: off - Advanced blending: off Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Unfiltered FB: off - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Full vram: off - Game fixes: off [00000000] My sound thing is the Eternal SPU one. I enabled all 5 check boxes in the screen (enable sound, CDDA, XAs, SPU IRQ). And in the configure, I havethe sound buffer at 8, a check by the Wait till XA is free, audio out is Multimedia timer (should i put Another thread? I am getting some static in some games like FF6), the move vag is at new, fine tune at zero, and only Update before accessing register is checked. For CD I am using ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.1. and I cannot even access the configure menu, if there is one. The Subchannel support thing is checked, although I am not sure it's doing anything. Yea that's about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you don't press start or any buttons during the loading of FF8 then it will continue into the opening scenes which weirdly are very slow to load up.. Hence it seems it's stuck when it's actually still loading the intro scenes.. Once the start button or x button gets pressed, the game continues to the title screen... Hence the reason why you need to press f4 sometimes.. To make the controlls work..
