And while you're at it, try the NES ones for pure nostalgia

think could work best on my system ? Try doing a "search" for both. MGS and FF8 have had a number of threads talking about their configurations, so it shouldn't be too hard to find something to try out.

The settings for FF8 are almost identical to those for FF9

PEOPS doesn't depend on the video card, but on the CPU,also,it gives poor quality in 3D scenes(no filtering).
Blade Of Chaos, try using Pete's OGL plugin with these settings: Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.60 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: GeForce2 GTS/AGP/3DNOW! Resolution/Color: - 1280x1024 Fullscreen - Desktop changing [32 Bit] - Keep psx aspect ratio: off Textures: - R8G8A8A8 - Filtering: 2 - Garbage collection: on - VRam size: 64 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 3 - Framebuffer texture: 2 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: on - Advanced blending: on Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Unfiltered FB: off - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Full vram: off - Game fixes: off [00000001] you may want to change the resolution, but other than that,it should run quite well. Use eternal SPU with the settings on the pic,and for the CDR,well, you'd better play from an ISO it gives better perfomances. |
