oh in addition, it could be a sound error, as it seems to freeze while trying to play a sound. there is no error message though, as the emu just seems to pause. i can still load save states, still change back and forth between the frontend GUI and the game, its just stuck on that one point in time.

Are you playing off of CD or ISO? If playing off of CD try an ISO and if playing off an ISO try the CD or try reburning the ISO. What cd-rom plugin are you using and what config?

happens wether i use cd or iso, via my burner or regular cdrom drive. i use pete's cdrom plugin version 1.5 (the win2k core plugin that comes with epsx dont work) with many different combinations of options (including all and none)

also running win2k just incase, but i doubt thats whats making the difference since its worked elsewhere. great game, wish it didnt give me so much crap.

In case you haven't done so already, you should install an ASPI layer for your CD drive cause Win2k doesn't have one pre-installed. It probably won't solve this problem, but it'll give you less problems with your cd-r plugins in the future. You can download it here: http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/sup...I+Package+4.70

I've never run into (or even heard of) this particular crashing point, but try using different versions of ePSXe (assuming you can go back and do a regular save somewhere). That sometimes takes care of crash points in Xenogears. If you're feeling brave, you could also use another emulator like FPSE to get past that part.

ive never been able to get regular saves to work, and my save state is just before the crash. for some reason, unlike last time (the dream sequence) i cant use ANY of my save states with the other versions of epsx. it crashes, says its generated an error log, but i cant find the log. basically im stuck with 1.51 cause no other version will load the savestates. if you think itll help i can post the states here to download, but thatll take 3 years on my crappy connection.

I'll send you a PM with my mail, send me the savestate and I'll try to pass it for you,but just from me to you, some games just hate savestates, and most of the time they're from Squaresoft .

Oh and the reason I tell you tp send it to me by mail is because you can't upload such a big file on the board.
So don't bother to .

1: you should have edited that second message in if you forgot
2: if youre running it off a cd try using a different cd rom plugin... if that doesnt work make it into an iso (if it isnt already one) ... or try to change the video plugin to something different, or the final option i can think of, try switching epsxe versions... v 1.20 let me get past one part i couldnt pass with 1.50
