Post Chrono Cross MDECs

Chrono Cross works well for me in ePSXe except for particularly long MCEDS, such as the intro. It will play fine until the part where it zooms into Kid's eye, and then it will stutter horribly ever few seconds thereafter. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I am using ePSXe 1.4 (I know 1.5 is out, but the CD changer doesn't work), Pete's OGL 1.58, internal sound, and the Core Win 2K IOCTL CD-Driver.

If you need more information to help me out, I'd be happy to provide it because I'd really like to enjoy CC's FMVs.

I have the same problem with Lewpy's Glide plugin with my Voodoo2, But not with my Geforce 4 MX. It may have something to do with video memory. Trying to see if I can find a solution for you.

Thanks. I have a 64 MB GeForce 3, btw. And I'm using 23.11 drivers.

Could you please post your configuration and system specifications?

I'll try comparing them then.

In 1.4.0, I needed to enable Mdec timing: Either by reg hack or ePSXexecuter. I don't know if that is nessecary in 1.5. I haven't had time to play PSX games recently... or at least ones with long MDECs

If the problem is cd access speed, then you should try running from an ISO. I can play the whole intro fine with my Voodoo2 and Lewpy's plugin, from an ISO(it really speeds up some parts of the game).

I am currenty=ly playing Chrono Cross with ePSXe 1.5.0 and had no problems switching CD's. if using 1.5 will solve your problem, go for it. if you experience the cd bug, then there are easy fixes (or wait for 1.5.1 this weekend)
