FF9 and Lewpy's

When I'm playing FF9, I noticed that for just plain walking around, Pete's plugins give me a higher framerate than Lewpy's, but Lewpy's gives me a much better framerate in everything else...(like battles, menues, worldmap...) Am I the only one out there with this problem?!!

BTW, I have a celeron 400:eyes: , 192 mgs of RAM, a Voodoo3 3000 PCI, an integrated sound "card", and is running from an ISO.

Well, when you are wallking around, most of the world is sprite based (2-D objects) and the only 3d objects are you and any other character on the screen.

When you go into battles, everyting is 3D, which heavily uses your 3D card. Lewpies glide drivers are optimized to use 3DFX glide API becasuse that is what the video card is optimized for. Pete's drivers are all around drivers, so they might handle 2D better than lewpies...

Hope this explains it well enugh...

Strangely enough, using Lewpy's or Pete's D3D on my AGP 3500 gives me no noticable frame rate difference, be it in battle or merely walking around.
