tales of destiny 2 in chambard...

curious,

can anyone actually continue playing past here?? teh game runs PERFECT (well.. besides teh battle backgrounds going nuts sometimes) but.. as soon as i enter chambard.. all hell breaks lose.

first off.. i c these black lines (i'm assuming heat waves) accross teh screen over and over again..

i couldn't figure out how to get rid of them.. so i used pete's soft plugin.. and it worked... but then.. another problem popped up... when i enter in a battle.. the fps drops to about.. oh.. 3....

anyone have any suggestions at all????

H

PS configs: duron 800, 512 ram, v3 2000 pci (i know.. i know..)

plugins pete's d3d, petes soft.... lewpy's justs makes my whole system bog down.. so i don't use that..

I'm not sure if you need the first step or not (probably don't, but I can't remember), but turn on Full VRam primitives and the special fix Framebuffer read on move.

Are you using 1.58? I thought that was fixed in that version...

hmm...

well.. it worked..... my fps dropped to hell though... (in the city.. about 13 fps.. battle is 4fps..) it did fix my background problem in battles at least.. but... kind annoying spending 3 minutes to do 1 fight..

i wonder if overclocking my v3 would help any????

Or go download an older version of Pete's plugins. There were no problems with battles in ToD 2 in 1.56 (I think that's the one I used...maybe 1.55).

They're just there for fun. Choose whatever one you like the most.

That area of ToD2 is best played with the software plugin, which should fix the speed issue. Most of the game is 2D anyway.

Did u guys watching a different between that CITY and other city??
That VERY HOT CITY is full of "moving layers". (base on the story about that air is very hot).
Then watching about SWIRL effect when we enter a battle...
On my computer.. when i use PETE OPENGL, is BUG (with ver. 1.55,1.56,1.57) but it good (maybe) with PEOPS.
So when i use opengl, entering that HOT City makes my computer drop to 1-2 FPS!!!
But it Fine with PEOPS but i have to SHUTOFF the sound because i only get 30-40 FPS with sound compare to 40-60 FPS without sound..

I think... maybe that is a BUG on pete's plugins.. or maybe OPENGL instruction cannot handle such SWIRL effect or MOVING LAYER??

I have an idea... can we make an intelegent plugins that can detect when the plugins become to SOFTWARE plugins.. even they are HARDWARE plugins (opengl or D3D instruction).. maybe that will solve a problem
Ex: plugins detect SWIRL effect.. will turn (using) SOFTWARE rendering, others using OPENGL instruction??
Sorry for my bad english.. hope u all understand what i mean..

Sorry for my stupid programming.. because i'm not a programming..

It's not a bug... Pete mentioned a couple of times before that these "blur" effects require reading the framebuffer, and all techniques to do it on a hardware plugin are bad.

Use pete's soft driver 1.56 (haven't d/l 1.58 yet...), it works perfectly fine, no black lines during the hot desert scene what so ever... good luck

Sorry, i apologize for the misleading of the version of pete's soft driver... yeah, it's ver. 1.54 and it works for those hot wavy effects, thanks for correction
