Make an ISO using CDRWin and set Error Recovery to Replace, that will replace the damaged parts of the disc with garbage. That way, when you play the game the MDECs will play through the dodgy bits with a few hiccups, but after that it should be OK.

thnx but this means ill be making an iso, and wait another 8 hours or so last time i made one of my disc it took me that long. coz of the scratches

i used ddump to rip the cd, but if im not mistaken ddump uses log files to record bad areas of the disk, making a second rip of the same disk faster.. is there afeature in ddump like in cdrwin that replaces unreadable sectors of the disk?

Use the command line -nomdec.. This will disable mdecs in any game.. Either use executor and put the command line into the command line options or add -nomdec to the epsxe shortcut properties.. Executor is easier..

Use -nomdecs only if you want to totally disable all the MDECS in the game ... use the ISO method for slightly-soiled-but-still-playable MDECS. Download the demo of CDRWin and make an ISO with Error Handling set to Replace, it shouldn't take too long.

If all else fails you can take the CD to one of those places that polishes up discs and makes them playable again.
