Chrono Cross strange freeze

I am running Chrono Cross using ePSXe, as you should know considering the topic and the forums yet anyway.

The deal here is, Almost immeadiately after becoming lynx's when you get to where you must talk to Norris and he joins your party it freezes. To be specific, Right after I select confirm to add Norris to the team the screen goes black and the music still plays.

I don't really have any idea what could be causing this I have tried a bunch of things but all to no avail. It is not the CD, I ran the game with another actual copy CD to confirm this. Also I am running the CD not the ISO.

Anyway,
By specs (Plug-ins) are:

Video Plug: Lewpy's Glide
Sound Plug: Default
CDR: Pete's Win PSX ASPI CDr

I have a Pentium 3 500 Mhz. 64MB RAM. Voodoo 3 GFX card.
Also I ran it on a....
AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz. 256MB RAM. GeForce 2 and had the same problem.

Okay, I figured out the problem. Now lets see who else is smart enough to find it out as well!!! LOL,

Hey, sorta new to the boards here, anyways, i have a similar problem, im at the point where kid gets poisoned with the hydra venom, either way i go the game freezes whenever a character joins, thats a bit irritating, since you obviously should have more than 5 characters by the end of the game. So far i've tried changing the Video and Sound setting but to no avail, wondering if anyone knows how to help...
btw if theres a rule here about bringing back dead threads then sorry but if I didnt then this would just be a new thread... anyways any help will be appreciated
