Talking some FFT sound help please

I've been trying to get the audio to work correctly for months now, to no avail. The music is fine; it's just the sound effects that sound distorted. Is this a problem with epsxe? I saw another thread somewhere that said FFT + epsxe don't go well together in the audio department. I'm using soundblaster live value with the latest drivers. Any suggestions?

Use the Eternal plugin 1.1 and set the Sound Buffer to 5 and set enable noise and pitch modulation, this will give you a better sound

epsxe is the best emu when it comes to FFT's sound and music, paired with Eternal of course.

This is slightly off topic but what do people generally think about FFT. I have heard different stories and since I have some cash to spare I was wondering wether it is worth a try?

Well if you want to know what I think? It's my all time favorite game. I have played and finished dozens and dozens of games. FFT is still #1. You can check out some screenshots of it in the psx screenshots section. It's a strategy RPG like Vandal Hearts and Hoshigami.
