Back to topic however... before they come out with a PS2 emulator we will still have to wait a while. You see teh system specs that we need in order to run a PSX game perfectly? Well the PS2 has about 3-4 times more power and therefore multiply todays average specs by four in order to realize how fast a PC you really need in order to play PS2 games. Just a thought.

You may be right.
Finally something intelligent has been said. Considering that the last one was for so called home brew games only, you may be right. This is made by Frodro. Who or what is that? By that way I am the last person that should be beta testing anything.

At least you understood that BrotherRed, we know that an emu can't come out of nowhere working right away, it takes time to develop it and we would have known if something was being made seriously in that perspective. Besides, if there was an emu being written, it would take a really powerfull computer to run it, it would be something that is not avaiable in the market yet for us to buy.

Would be cool to go back to 1998 with a small disk in tow containing ePSXe v1.5.0 plus all the new plugins minus the BIOS and email the damn thing to bleem.com OR post screenshots on different emu message boards. Would have loved to seen the look on Randy Linden's face.

OK first I apologize if I offended you... looking back, the picture was probably a tad mean-spirited.
However, I've found this emulator that you're talking about, downloaded it, hex-edited the thing, and... I'm 100% certain is a fake. Why? 1. I'm certain it's written in Visual Basic. Now anyone in their right mind wouldn't want to code an extra complicated emulator in Visual Basic, because it's such a high level language. A lot of things are abstracted from the programmer, causing a high overhead and thus speed penalty. Plus it's a bit too high level, so funky optimization tricks that could be employed in a C/C++ or even assember won't be of too much use in Visual Basic. 2. Nowhere in the code do I find any reference to Direct3D and/or OpenGL.... now.... writing a PS2 emulator that does software rendering in Visual Basic? If it runs, it'll run at a measlly 0.0001 fps I haven't looked at the binary closely yet to determine whether this is some kind of trojan, or just a harmless piece of code... regardless, I wouldn't recommend trying it, and if you do try it, just be prepared for anything.

There was a beta PS2 emulator for MAC that was developped to proove how powerfull a G4 was, it was runnig at about 50 percent the speed and without sound. But when you know the gap between PC and Mac nowadays you can tell that this is not such an impossible project...
