No, they should work. Which program did you use to create it?

I used isobuster for .bin, which work great. I used winiso for the .isos.

ISOs work fine for me when I use IsoBuster. Just save the file with an .iso extension in IsoBuster.

I've tried daemon tools with WinISOs iso file without any luck.

have any of you tried burning the .bin or .iso files after using IsoBuster? (I had problems doing this. The Help file indicates that you can't)

That is the reason I used WinISO, I want to be able to burn the files afterwards. Any other recommended iso generators that work with epsxe fine and burn fine?

Thanks!

what worked perfectly? i've been able to play isobuster isos without trouble. or is it you've been able to burn perfectly? If this is the case, what program did you use to burn them? did you use any noteworthy settings?

there's lots of confusion about iso images compared to others.. time to explain it again =)

isos have a different encoding than binary images. isos use a different number of bytes per sector than binary images, and it's possible to lose data making an iso image. binary images may be bigger, but at least you can be guaranteed that the image will work with nearly every plugin and emulator. FYI, in the next version of my cd plugin, i'm taking out iso support because it's so buggy when you use them in psx emus. one more note is that besides my plugin, i haven't found any other cd plugins that truly support iso images (they may say it, but they really only support binary images). furthermore, some games require more exact time information (i.e. wipeout xl), and plugins that don't provide that information won't work with those images.

if you're going to make game images, make binary images, not isos. for your current iso images, use daemon tools or find an iso to bin utility.

Interesting... I never knew that...

Anyway, I use CloneCD for my PSX ISOs, just extract full subcodes (audio and data) and you should be fine.

I use Adripsx to make iso (or bin). Which format does Adripsx use?

Also what free program would be best for making bin images as opposed to iso.

IsoBuster definitely!!
AFAIK, it's the only freeware iso maker.

BTW, you might wanna read the graphical explanation for creating iso with iso buster at here:

Three? What program are you using? The big one is the main image, and one of the smaller ones should be the CUE sheet. I dunno what the other one is, though, unless you're using CloneCD, in which case it's the CCD CUE sheet, which you need.

Just put them all for safety. =P

There's also DDump.

It seems pretty good at getting scratched CDs.
