Graphics Glitch?

Probably something that has come up before:

So far I have only played Chrono Cross on epsxe. Its all good, all the vital problems have fixes. However, the 3D graphics are always wavery. By this I mean, whenever any 3D rendered object moves, it seems to change shape. In the Dead Sea there is combat on modern road, and this problem causes the yellow lines to sometimes lose linearness and become jagged. Any flat ground seems to lose its flatness while it moves across the screen.

I have used Pete's plugins and no option I can find makes the textures stay solid. Is this a function of emulation or just some stupid choices I made in settings? I'd heard that graphics are enhanced in emulation so I'd appreciate knowing if and how this can be fixed.

Thank you.

From your description, this is normal behavior. It's due to the lack of a Z-axis in the Playstation hardware (causes an inability to smoothly move polygons 'in' and 'out' of the screen). It happens with a real PS (though less noticeable with the native low resolutions on a television screen). It's most visible (to me, at least) with the walls in racing games. There's nothing you can do to get rid of it--it's a part of the PS hardware itself.

IC

Thanks. I thought it might've been something solved by the emulators that I just hadnt heard about or that my settings were making it worse. But if its normal at that resolution, then ok. Never really noticed it on psx.
