Don't take this the wrong way, but matrox has a ****ty reputation in terms of 3d acceleration. Good business cards, good all around stuff, but 3d acceleration? Nahhh... Take my advice. If you want TV-out, get the Geforce with that daughter card thingy. I think that's TV out... I could be wrong.

Yes you can !! Use Petes D3D X6 !! In fact the test made by the authors of epsxe is on a Matrox G200 !

erm, does that mean i could get great graphics and nice speeds from the card? so far the reviews i see put it around the speed of a tnt2 card, tat correct?
oh, and btw, when filtering is enabled, the whole screen could be seen to be divided into squares, is tat a problem of the card or the filtering itself? |

Man... Don't take this 3D Cards thing too hard... I had a nice playing with an "Intel Natural Graphics Controler" of 8 MB, it played everything smoothly with Pete's D3D DX6 ( Only on a very few games I need to use Kazz Soft ), finished FF9 with it...
The cofig. was like this: Plugin: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.56 GFX card: Intel(r) 82810E Graphics Controller 4.12.01.2604 Resolution/Color: - 800x600 Resolution - 640x480 Window mode ( I like windows ) Textures: - R5G5B5A1 - Filtering: 3 - Caching: 2 Framerate: - FPS limit: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: 60 ( 50 for PAL stuff ) Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 2 - Framebuffer texture: 2 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: off - Advanced blending: hardware Misc: - Scanlines: off [0] - Unfiltered FB: on - Dithering: on - Full vram: off - Game fixes: on [00000200] ( I was playing FF9 when I copied this Configs. ) Well, good luck. |

Your card should be sufficient to play epsxe at a decent rate. I believe the Matrox G400 performs similar to a TNT2 Utlra. Epsxe does not use environmental bump-mapping. It doesn't use any sort of bump-mapping technique at all.
