just run the game in a window and if you have a soundblaster run waverecorder from the creative software and select whatUhear this should do the trick.

Look for a program called PSXPlay, it lets you scan a CD for all the MDECs and digital music files, and then play them. I think you can rip, but I'm not sure. There's another program which lets you rip, but I can't remember what it's called. It's in it's beta phase if that's any help. Search the NGEmu website.

Just buy the OST or download the OST mp3s off morpheus or winmx or any of those programs.

I personally love the music that plays while you fight Dario and Miguel.. it really captures the hopelessness of the situation at those points in the game.

I think the music in general is very good, but in important scenes, it is that much better

I don't know about the music only, but I used PsxMC and I extracted the whole intro movie.

You're right, I does the same for FF8 and FF9, because these intros are mostly videos. If you want only the music, you must:
1) Extract the Intros and other videos.
2) convert them to something like AVIs
3) extract from these AVIs files the audio tracks.

Good luck.

Shadow Lady is right; either download them from the net with something like Kazaa, or you could try buying the OST

thanx ppl.

note of interest:

i went to zophar.net, then to their playstation utilities section. they have a lot of programs which allow you to extract XA and other audio from a disc, which can then be converted to WAV using another utility. so there you are

Thats what I was saying: I don't think you will be able to use that because I don't think the chrono cross music is in XA format

Yeah, definitely worth downloading/purchasing. CC has one of the best soundtrack among PSX games, or perhaps among all console games.

Agree, my thought exactly.

So, if CC is not using XA music,
1. I wonder what kind of synthesizer PSX is using to play those beautiful tunes....Is it some kind of MIDI or proprietary format?

2. Are they stored as file(s) extractable from the game disc?

3. Can the synthesizer be emulated like SPC chip on SNES?

Maybe it's too early to do such attempt given PSX games are still selling on the market. But I wonder the possibility of this.

1. Proprietory format. Vaguely similar to midi, but more like SNES sfc.
2. Pass. Ask me one on Final Fantasy
3. More than likely
