FF9 troubles (again)

Hi, I'm trying to play the UK PAL patched version of FFIX on the latest version of ePSXe. I'm using Pete's OpenGL plugin 1.56, the internal SPU and CD plugin. FF9 works fine until I try and start a new game, it just goes back to the start menu every time I press "new game". Also it fails to read any of the FF9 memory cards I've loaded and says that there is no FF9 save data on them.
In order to get the keyboard controls working I have to press F4 twice, which is kinda screwed too.

Any ideas on how to get a new game to start successfully or load a saved game from a memory card file?

for memory card's problem, try hitting F4 b4 saving/loading.

If these FF9 mem cards are from the net, they are unlikely to work as most of them (read: all) are for the NTSC version. I'd offer you a save at the first save point, but my FF discs are at Uni, and I don't go back till saturday.

Thankyou very much for your save files, they worked. I guess I'll have to wait until the next release of ePSXe to see the intro of FF9.
