We've just learnt that samuelv released his homebrew application that lets you make phone calls directly from your DS. All you need is a SIP account! Several members have already tried it and it is reported to work great!

Big step for homebrew on handhelds. Competition for the iPhone right ahead
Most SIP stuff is either free or highly inexpensive
