NeonDS 0.1.1 Released!

Quote:
In the next two weeks I'll be busying moving my home to another city, I'll have no time working on this emulator. So, here I release a version with incomplete 3D display engine support. Although the 3D support is not complete yet, there are already some games playable.
I have updated the wiki for some of my testing results.

Here is the list of updates in this version:

3D display engine (incomplete yet)
Replace D3D with OpenGL for display rendering
Support 2x display zooming
Fix some DMA bugs
NeonDS | NDS (Nintendo DS) emulator

Orz is a talented dude. He's accomplished a lot in such a little timespan. There has only been a few releases of NeonDS and it's already up there with the other NDS emulators.

Good luck with your move Orz, and cant wait for the new release with more 3D support. What am I talking about? You just released this version. I should be more patient.

This emulator doesn't have sound yet, does it? (I'm not quite sure, that's why I'm asking you (I tried ver. 1.0.0 and didn't hear anything, but I might've overlooked an option or something)).
If there isn't sound yet, I hope sound is on the near-term 'todo' list.

Yes , neonds is by far the fastest emulator out there for the ds (two times faster or even more?), with good compatibility. If it had sound maintaining about the same speed, i would probably forget every other emulator for the ds. It is also not very much "user friendly". But hey, you gotta love the speed.

It should be pretty obvious that sound is on his todo list in the future as with any emulator that doesn't emulate all features in the beginning of its development. It would be odd to have an emulator that doesn't have a goal to emulate the main functions of the console/handheld. I guess Orz took this approach because he wanted games to run without having to worry about working on sound right now. You see how much progress is being made in such little time because he's focusing solely on 2D and 3D emulation afaik.

I am extremely happy with the progress of this one. Metroid pinball runs practically flawless. Excellent speed I dont think I experienced any graphical errors. Castlevania Portrait of Ruin ran at 40 fps. This emulators interface is a little different from most, but nothing an experienced emulator user can't figure out rather quickly. As previously reported there is no sound implemented yet. However this thing rocks I turned up the music on media player and played Metroid pinball for like half an hour. Another thing I'm quite pleased about is thus far you dont need a dual core or quad core system to run this thing. I have a Intel Pentium 4, 3.0ghz with Hyper Threading.
