Although behavior was not checked much, a new version is released.
SSF Ver0.08 alpha R4
Seek Status was added to the drive status of the CD Block.
Zero Divide and Falcom Classics 2 now work.
VDP1 drawing processing was updated.
Vandal Hearts cursor is displayed.
The cycle pattern specification (designation/assignment) mistake of the VDP2 was taken into account.
The screens of Dracula X and World Heroes Perfect are now displayed accurately.
Since this is somewhat slow, an option was added (for enabling/disabling the function).
An error where CDDA fails to be reproduced when loading savestates was corrected.

It is now possible to perform disc changing even if there is no BIOS.
CD Access LED was added.
Savestate data version was changed.
Although data (savestates) from the previous version (0.08 Alpha R3) still load, anything before 0.08 Alpha R3 will not.
Also, since the BIOS emulation program was also changed, savestates made without BIOS may not work (even from the previous version).

As for checking the cycle pattern specification mistake, it is only done for Normal Background mask, Cell Form, 16 colors. (??)
With the exception of this, there are many collapsing cases, these should be fixed by later developement (when the mistake is understood).

I'd wish someone with technical knowledge on the Saturn would explain this cycle pattern mistake, and how it is checked for only the 3 mentioned objects, because I'm very clueless about them.

(also, updated the translation of that part a bit, mistaked 行 for "line")

I'm still trying to figure out how to get passed the bios. Do you guys click the No Bios option on the program 3 tab to get passed it?

When I do it'll crash and give me this error message;

MasterSH2 code = 0000
06002E00 : (0000) Unknown code

SlaveSH2 code = FFFF
FFFC0000 : (FFFF) Unknown code

68000 code = 60FE
00000400 : (60FE) BRA $00000400
MasterSH2 Unknown code : 0000

Is there anything I could do to get around that?

Hi.

I know that the game uses CD audio for music, o tought strange 'cause another game that uses CD music (tree dirty dwarves) works ok; while Guardian Heroes works with no music, only sound effecs.

Thanks,
Bye.

If the mounted image properly shows up and plays the audio tracks (ex. in a media player), then the emulator should play them fine too (unless you disabled music under the game options).
