SSF Ver0.07 beta R10

New version, which now supports *drumroll* Savestates. Use F7 to load, Shift + F7 to save. Full changelist soon.

Yah, haw.

Changelist:
Quote:
SSF Ver0.07 beta R10
SCSP playback position processing was updated.
Access processing of the memory was updated.

Snapshot key was changed to F8.
Saturn.ini and SSF.ini are now merged [b](SSF.ini saved the emu settings, Saturn.ini saved the clock/language settings in the past - you'll probably need to delete your ini files and re-configurate the emu).
Save States are temporary mounted.
State Load = F7 key
State Save = Shift + F7 key

Since data is compressed, saving takes time.

The savestate function has restrictions. (I heavily abbreviated this part, I think you'll get the idea)
- Only one save can be made per game (multiple saves are planned for future versions)
- You can only save once the game has started up (There's something written about "Being unable to save on multiplayer screens" here which I didn't understand)
- Saturn's built-in backup and the contents of the backup RAM cartridge are not saved. (For STV games however, the backup memory is also saved)
- If the BIOS changes, a savestate cannot be loaded.
- In later versions, it may become impossible to load a previous savestate. (Since support is experimental, the savestate data may change in the future, braking compatibility for existing saves)

Saves are between 1mb - 7mb in the quick test I did - Saving took some time but loading was instant, and worked fine even on problematic areas such as demo discs.

Awesome new release! Maybe it could fix some of the probs in my games.

But dosnt it go slower? i've used older ones on my computer and it goes at a considerably nice speed and every new release has gone slower and slower.

And according to the ssf bbs, Mr. Bones also works with Slavesh2 Idle Loop turned off (on disc 1).

You know, when I first tested Mr. bones with 0.07 Beta R9, It loaded and I got really excited. Then I rebooted SSF and tried a second time(I always try 3-4 times) and it froze loading the first level. Then retried again. Same thing. Retried. Same. Etc, etc., etc.

However it does load fine with Beta R10 using the default settings (with Bios).

EDIT: This could very well be the best release in a long time. 3D Baseball now works (With some audio problems). I'm off to check some more
EDIT #2: Courier Crisis is now Fully Playable (Background errors in menus)

Arcus Odyssey gets ingame, but there are tons of graphical problems making it unplayable. Dark Savior is great though. I wonder if Astal Works.

I appreciate the work these guys are putting into this thing. However, I would trade all the state saves in the world for fixed spell effects in Shining Force 3.

The Shining Force spell effects are like, the last VDP1 bug in the emu it seems. I think it may be the same thing affecting one of the bosses in Cotton 2/boomerang.

Yes, it has become slower and slower, I hope the speed is fixed again in a later release.
