I think you were more aiming at the DC emulators for pc and the N64 emulator **** we recently had, but saying the DC scene is full of empty promises takes it a step too far.

The BIOS quiestions are not allowed, because the BIOS is copyrighted by the company that made the console. The only legal way to have BIOS is to dump your own. Use the google for metods how to do that.

There aren't, besides, the emulator is not that advanced and certainly does not like all of your illegal images. The only way to ensure you can enjoy your DC games the proper way without problems is on a real DC. A lot of games work on emulator, but some are also broken.

Reverse engineering is programming with your back turned to your monitor. It requires you have very flexible arms in order to bend them behind your back and program that way... Just kidding of course. This is what Wikipedia says about the subject: Reverse engineering (RE) is the process of discovering the technological principles of a mechanical application through analysis of its structure, function and operation. It often involves taking something (e.g., a mechanical device, an electronic component, a software program) apart and analyzing its workings in detail, usually with the intention to construct a new device or program that does the same thing without actually copying anything from the original.
