Ps2Reality 1.50 Beta

Don't know how old this news is, but I've done a search and found only one thread (really old...sometime around june 2003) on this nice proggie for PS2.

Anyways, I just found this great util for ps2 that plays mp3s, divx, avi, and jpg files!!! I tried it out on my ps2 and it runs my initial D at full speed with sound. You must try it out to believe it.

The homepage is here : www.ps2reality.net , but you'll need to read the readme included with the download to understand how to burn it. To compile the CD, I used a cdgen util available at ps2.consolevision.com because it (the player) requires LBA settings to be made on two files. After you generate the image, just burn it with a program that doesn't rectify the subchannel data (or any proggie like Alcohol 120% that offers a PS2 burning mode)

All burnt media requires a modded console.

Yeah, if you're planning to burn the thing to a disk, you'll have to have a mod chip. But after you download the file, you'll see in the readme that using the recent "independence" exploit, you can run the app through a network adapter (IIRC), save it to the mem card, then run it from there. I personally just have a modded ps2 and a cd - can't really understand how the other things work, AND I don't have a network adapter.

Well good news for owners of non mod ps2, you can now play the media player on your ps2

Using the new exploit thingie posted by zenogais not so long ago in the news submission.

You will need a psx cd to do it tho...

Just search ps2ownz on google
