Smile WinUAE 0.8.22 Release 9 is out !

Bugs fixed

- compiler misoptimization of some rare instructions
(affected 0.8.22R8 only, usually caused GURUs)
- bsdsocket emulation (connection freeze, IRCD, AmyGate etc..)
- NTSC vsync sound
- Windows 2K/XP CD detection problems in non-ASPI mode
- more compatible audio emulation
(TBL's Tint, some demos playing only noise)
- ticking/unticking 68000 "more compatible" checkbox on the fly
does not crash the emulated Amiga anymore
- AVI capture sound sync

New features:

- software 2x filters (Scale2x, SuperEagle, 2xSaI and Super2xSaI) and
manual screen position adjustment.
- separate windowed and fullscreen mode width and height
- 100% exact blitter block mode cycle diagram (cycle-exact mode only)
- replaced "run at higher priority" with priority selection select box
- added CAPS support to mini-version
- automatic AVI splitting

Enjoy !

I'd 100% agree with that.

Where have you been for the last 10 years ?

If I was you I would try any of the following

Sensible Soccer V1.1
Stuntcar Racer
Grand Monster Slam
Project X
Super Frog
The Great Giana Sisters
Katakis
Alien Breed

And hundreds more, I could go on and on. There literally are hundreds of amazing games for this classic machine.
I have the entire Amiga games collection (around 4Gb), so if there's anything you want or think of, let me know.

On a different note, Anyone had any luck with the new BLIT filters ?
I can get Scale2x to work, but I'll be damned if I can get the others to work. All I end up with is a tiny screen, and filtering turned off.

As Samor said, there are lots and lots of nice Amiga games. You can get a glimpse of just a few of my favorite Amiga games, by followng psicomaniaco's "unforgettable games" thread, from page 5 ,and on.

Since people's views tend to differ as to how good some certain old games are (especially where nostalgia is involved) and since I'm also known to have some rather "weird" tastes in games, you can always search the net for Amiga game reviews (to form your own opinion), or consult other Amiga users, like sxamiga, Esturk, etc. (CraigGen has already suggested some excellent games).

just set amiga screen resolution to 16bit (800x600x16 example) and other SAI filters will work :-)

Yeah, thanks for that.
I just spotted a similar answer on the WinUAE forum.
It appears the BLIT modes (except scale2x) only work in 16bit.
One thing to note, they are sllllooowwww.
Scale2x, is fast. And it doesn't appear to actually have any affect on speed.

Yes, I am getting this now also. I have always loved the Commodore Amiga and that is where the amiga in my screen name comes from. I might try playing Shadow of the Beast tonight. Also does anyone have a Shadow of the Best 2 and Walker or does anyone know where I might find those? Thanks.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

dunno if its still there, but AIAB (Amiga In A Box) had a nice HD version of Walker online....

ah, yes, over here:
http://aiab.emuunlim.com/
you need to have AIAB installed for it though (I think)

as far as I know this is perfectly legal, but I'll remove the link if someone thinks it isn't...
