Detonator 45.24 Win2000/XP Drivers Released

Right then, let's call this D-Day (Detonator Day). NVIDIA just released version 45.24 of their Detonator drivers (unexpected huh. This is the reference set Detonator 45.24 for Windows 2000/XP platforms and are Quadro optimized (their professional boards). Nonetheless, all NVIDIA graphics cards are supported, the files within the archive are dated August 5 2003 which makes the the latest set available.

Included is a setup.exe for easy installation. We also re-archived this release to save file-size, which we brought back towards 6 MB and is already serving from our file-server. The drivers are not WHQL certified.

Dont wanna try browsing through nVidia's ftp .. i might get law-suied for some nVidevilsh reason .

And your impressions about the drivers?, mah, I'm downloading these. I'll post my feedback later.
Take a look at this guru3d comparision between 44.03, 44.23 & 44.24.

With a test-system based on a Pentium 4 - 2.8 GHz (800 MHz FSB), 1 GB Dual Channel DDR and Springdale based mainboard I quickly ran some numbers with Detonator drivers 44.03, 45.23 and 45.24 and the help of a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra. Operating system was Windows XP.

The results for our Splinter Cell and Doom III benchmark I have left out as the graphics did not output properly. Doom III is showing a white flashing screen and Splinter cell has some scene's that render inaccurately. No results with AA and AF just yet as this was just a quick run.

Because nVidia doesnt like someone gettin near to their precious drivers before they do whatever they want with them .

Phoenix, got 'em tonight from guru3d. You know me, can't resist new drivers. But they better be better than the 44.23s. So far those are thebest I've seen. Here is a screenshot I took of ATI's Chimp Demo (that's right ATI) w/my 5900 Ultra using the 44.23s. I think it looks pretty good. What do you all think?

I think the chimp is the ugliest thing i've seen. But, yeah, it looks cool, looks better then a 9800 IMO

sxamiga, I know you'd test them. Nice pic, Image Quality looks good, but the chip indeed isn't prettier than, for example, Dawn. I tested them last night just that I hadn't the time to post my results

Honestly I didn't notice to much difference between the 45.23 and 45.24, just a 45.23 bug fix drivers are the 45.24, the AA modes I tested in D3D via rivatuner (2x, 4x, 4xS, 4x 9-tap, 6x, 8x, 8xS, 12x and 2 x 2) looked a bit jagged, something that didn't happened in previous versions. GTAVC crashed on me one time. So only further testing to see the differences between 45.23 & 45.24.

Installed 'em last night. Found visual quality to be superb and they are faster than the 45.23 drivers. Yup, faster. Now Gaultlet Legends looks and plays like the arcade game it was ment to be. The 45.24's are definately "keepers" for me.

Ill try em out too, thx for your reports SX and phoenix . keep in mind newer doesnt always mean better .. i installed the new VIA drivers just to have its IDE driver destroy windows

well i have a screwy motherboard from a bankropt company and a really old harddrive so who knows .. check www.viaareana.com , they are the VIA gurus .. if anything is wrong with the drivers it will be posted there

my gf3 and gf4mx460 really get +600,+700 from this driver in 3dmark2001se, but i don't know if the mark have anything to do in real games...

New games ? not really, its a DX7 Test IIRC. Older games are effected though ..

3D Mark 2001 SE is a dx8.1 benchmark, also, as for browsing nvidia's ftp, there isn't any problem, it's a public ftp

Ahh. Thanks for correcting me .. so 2001 is still a good test as most games do use DX8 extensions ..
