Exclamation Detonator 45.23 Win 2000/XP - WHQL

Well, one more to the list..... Here's what Hilbert from Guru3d has said:

Quote:
I got pointed at warp2search that they noticed a new Detonator driver release, and indeed. It was originally posted by fujitsu-siemens. We have mirrored the file for you downloading pleasure. The file has been 7zip compressed (self extracting excutable) for a small 8.3 MB file-size.
The new drivers are for Windows 2000/XP and have been labeled with build 45.23 and are dated 28th of July 2003. This is a generic multilanguage release and it's the latest driver currently available. The more interesting fact is that the drivers support the yet to be announced Geforce FX5200SE, 5600SE & 5900SE cards. Also, this release has been WHQL certified (Microsoft tested and approved).

Update: an email from nVIDIA just came in. This driver was not meant to be released just yet. You can expect the official release of this driver on Monday. I now have a document that explains all driver fixes, and it looks good. We will remain serving the fujitsu-siemens version and on Tuesday you can expect NVIDIA's version which I also already have in my posession. That version will have a full set/installer and will be posted online on Tuesday. I just did a byte comparison and basically there is no difference.

Re: Detonator 45.23 Win 2000/XP - WHQL

I tested this set. I noticed better image quality overall, specially in OpenGL. I couldn't notice any dramatic enhancements regarding AA, AF or speed compared with the 45.20s, 44.71, 44.67.

I'm downloading these right now Phoenix. From what you have said, this sound like a "good get". I'll give my impressions after I test 'em.
As for do the research you have done, what can I say except that I'm very impressed. Great job, you're even a better driver beta tester than I am. Way to go.

New Official Nvidia Detonators to be Released Monday
Looks like our Detonator Guru Mark Fox has Nvidia on the hop as we have word that Nvidia will be releasing a new official Detonator Driver on Monday! I bet you can't guess which set though? 46.50 , 48.90 or 50.00

Re: Detonator 45.23 Win 2000/XP - WHQL

Looks like these drivers have fixed Tri-Linear filtering. Some people at the guru3d and Nvnews.net forums are raving about them.

Here is the thread at Nvnews.net:

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...5&pagenumber=2

I'm currently using the Omega's Dets 44.03, but these do look interesting.

My performance in PlanetSide is really bad with these. I play that game a lot now, so I;m going to stay away from them.

I have one stupid question : What's the differences between the official Detonator drivers and the Omega drivers?? Does Omega drivers unlock extra tweaking that official Nvidia drivers don't?

Re: Detonator 45.23 Win 2000/XP - WHQL

The omega drivers are nvidia tweaked drivers either for performance or quality, they're based in the official releases, that's all astroduck. They're tweaked via the .inf file the files themselves are the same. If you chose to give them a try you'll notice a big boost regarding quality(if you chose quality) or performance, will give you some speed, what I don't like is that the options you have for AA and AF (in quality) are limited because the drivers are tweaked by the .inf file. If you do so then the defauult options override the tweaks.

sxamiga, no way I can compete with you, the King of betatesting .

Well, I downloaded these and tested them today. The clarity is definately improved. These are great drivers and IMHO are worth the download. One thing though, they don't show up as WHQL certified in the DX screen. I installed them manually since there is no install .exe and still the WHQL certification didn't show up. So I may just download and install the offical drivers from Nvidia on Monday. But I am definately sticking w/these.
They work great w/ePSXe 1.60 and Pete's OGL2.0 GPU also.
Thanks for the compliment Phoenix.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Re: Detonator 45.23 Win 2000/XP - WHQL

so for IQ, which is better the 43.45 or the 45.23?

the 44.03 suxs in IQ so, no bother asking for the quality comparison of it.

Well nvidia released these 45.23 on their website they seem to be all card WHQL now. Two versions are available, the english only(thank the almighty forces of beyond) and the international one(multilanguage).
Also the release notes, the Display Properties user's guide and Nview 2.0 Desktop manager user's guide had been updated.
