NeoPSX new PSX Emulator

Just wanted to announce a new Playstation emulator I recently started called NeoPSX. I know, not another Playstation emulator, but check it out at http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/neo-psx/. And any good programmers out there, we're looking for help.

Re: NeoPSX new PSX Emulator

We're definately focused on making this one of the fastest Playstation emulators out there. I already have 1 good ASM programmer out there but we could use another one. And we're going to program the entire R3000A CPU in NASM along with anything else that gives us significant slowdown. And we're going to try to make our C/C++ code as fast as possible. I know what the people on the lower end PCs go through trying to run a Playstation emulator and I'm going to try to make this emulator help some of you.

Re: NeoPSX new PSX Emulator

It would be a better idea using the PSemu plugin system even if they write their own plugins.

To address the plugin system. It will be backward compatible with the PSEmu plugin system, but I'm going to try to have all the plugins built in so that no one has to search for them. I'm working on the CD Plugin right now, whew! Well thanks for the support.

Good going zenogais. Always room for one more PSX emu. Look at what Xeven accomplished. He kept his under wraps until it was ready to be unvieled and then what an unveiling it was. Let us hope that yours will turn out like that.
Also, may I offer my sevices as a beta tester for your new emu if you are interested that is. I am currently a beta tester for ePSXe and I have also had the privilage of trying one PSXeven's betas so I have had experience. Best of luck w/your new emu.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Re: NeoPSX new PSX Emulator

Will the beta versions be public as bug would be found much easier that way using the bug report system. I see that you already have some stuff up on CVS.

Re: NeoPSX new PSX Emulator

We can always use beta testers, so I'll make an announcement about that and anyone who wants to is welcome to beta test it. The beta versions will of course be public. The CVS on the website is kinda disorganised right now, but I'm starting to get it working, check out the source code from CVS if you want and anyone is welcome to work on it.

Re: NeoPSX new PSX Emulator

Sounds like this emulator should be a great success. I wish that I could help you but I have limited skills in C++ and no knowlage of RISC or 80x86 ASM. But I will use your beta versions and report bugs. Are you puting up a webspace on SourceForge. SourceForge have VHOST capabilities so you can use your own domain name. But you need DNS hosting.

Re: NeoPSX new PSX Emulator

eventually I should get around to building a webpage, but right now I'm pretty much donating full time to the programming portion. Once version 1.0 BETA is out I'll definately get to putting up a webpage.
