Seems like a very nice release. I hope it doesn't have the probs that ppl mentioned about past versions. If I were to buy a nforce2 mboard right now, would it come with the new version or a older version, cuz I was gonna get one in a couple of weeks.

Interesting... they say "NOTE: NVIDIA accelerated IDE drivers are not included in this release.", but then a little bit later "IDE In-the-box 2.70 (WHQL)". Oh, well. I'll download them anyway.

Khan , the IDE in the box is for the XP driver .. its not there for the 2000 one .

Yeah, but the "NOTE: NVIDIA accelerated IDE drivers are not included in this release." is in the general release notes.

I don't even see the point in the IDE drivers in the first place. All my IDE drivers worked superb from the start when I built this computer.

Well .. if you have a new OS like windows XP its likely that the nVidia Drivers are already there ..

Khan , yea i was worried about that too . does it mean ill have to get an older version (2.03 on nVidia's site) to have the IDE , then upgrade to this ?

They suck horribly. Verry verry bad. I would have posted this but no1 should have been exposed to these things. The 2.03's are still better. These just made my sound problems worse.

...are these "nForce drivers" for all nForce mobos? like my new one???

i suppose id listen to this thread and stay at v2.03 for my mobo if this is so...

Well the 2.03 IS the driver that appers on nVidia's page .. so i guess thats the safe one to use .

I found the 2.03's mixed with the 5.10.2938.0 audio drivers work best for me. Any other drivers and the audio turns to scratchy **** after 5 minutes.

I dont get this .. what the heck are nVidia doing ? mix and match ? these drivers seem to be pure luck O_o

i know i'm reviving an old thread, but this fits here so why start a new one. I just decided to install these drivers, but i'm still not clear on nvidia install procedures. are we just expected to install these drivers over the old ones, or do we have to do some system cleanup first?

It'd be safer to uninstall your previous Nforce2 drivers first. I usually do. BTW, I'm using the unofficial 2.64 nforce2 drivers.
