ATI Catalyst 3.3 - CANCELLED ! (Plus Dets 50.xx)

Did not expect this one O_o

Warp2Search has published this article stating that 3.3 was cancelled , while 3.4 is in already being beta tested and should be released in the following weeks .

Quote:
These drivers are currenly in the hands of our beta testers and going through the final run through. If all goes well you guys will get them in the time frame I mentioned above and you will be very happy with them. They will have performance boosts across the boards, some bug fixes, some new features, and of course the best image quality in the business!

Source From Warp2search
http://www.warp2search.net/article.php?sid=12049

also on warp2search , seems the first driver of the famed Detonators 50.xx is out , from HP to their workstations . this need the HP AGT GART driver and only works on 64bit systems though (XP64 and .net 2003 server)

well,
Like for ePSXe, I prefer to wait the time needed and to get a fully opperationnal driver. Not just a day build (beta) who correct a game alter another one and make my system to crash .
And if the bonus are some impovements, then it's better to wait.

Hmmm, Cat. 3.4's instead of 3.3's and with across the board improvements to boot. I think I can wait a little longer for those. Especially since the Cat. 3.2s are working just fine for me right now.
Thanks for the news ChaosBlade and for the estimated release date Badaro. May 15th isn't that far away.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Sorry, I can't help you with Half Life/CS as I don't have that game. But there are supposed to be other problems, as well, with the 3.2s and so far, I haven't encountered any of them.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

SXamiga, It mean that the problem is of HL (ESC on Exit) is the the same for ePSXe (crash on exit) and with my new AIW9700pro it's still the same as on my Good ol' AIW8500!!!... (except if I use the OGL library DLL from cat3.1). It mean (if I remember well) you never had that problem and I'll be interrested to know what was your trick..
BTW: the next CAT3.4 will correct that. (from the forums)

mmm... I have a problem like that, when on Metal Gear Solid and trying to chnge resolutions it makes the program crash -_-

I hope they really fix that for the next Catalyst and that version to be out the 15th May

anyway, have anyone tried the 50.06 detonators?

chp, no trick at all. My ATI Radeon 9700 pro worked fine w/ePSXe and the Cat 3.2 from day one. I just installed the drivers, set my options, and used rage 3d to tweak some settings (no overclocking). I have had no problems at all since doing this. So this is why I say can't really help with your problem. Since I have never experienced these problems, I have no idea what might be causing them. I am sorry to hear that your new card is doing the same thing. One thing, is your All in Wonder made by ATI directly or by a 3rd party? Mine is made by ATI directly, maybe that is the difference. Just a thought.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Ok SXAmiga....
First, scuse the lack of reply but I was very busy these days....

- No My AIW9700Pro is not an "BBA", it's a "PBA" made by POWERCOLOR because, here in Europe, ATI decided to not distribue directly anymore (that's a shame). But I verified some little things and in fact it mean it's an ATI (except for the logos) because the layout is strictly the same as the "BBA" AIW9700Pro.

- Perhaps there are some "DLL" diffs between an "US" WinXP and non "US" WinXP (compiling pbs allready seen and well known in many other programs).

Friendly....

EDIT : Strange... Strange... Now it works!.... I just looked at my OGL settings in ATI control panel...

I think (If I remember well), I just set the "Wait for VSync" to "Always disabled" in the OGL Tab. (translated from the French OGL tab).:eyes:
But I'm not really conviced by that.... I think my system had 'old' values in the registry (from my AIW8500DV) for the OGL and 'mooving' that slider, something re-initiated the correct values....

Try it by yourself...
