Smile Unoffical WHQL Catalyst 3.3 drivers realeased

Over at guru3d.com they have the the unoffical Cat 3.3 drivers for ATI cards available. They are unoffical because they are from a partner of ATI not from ATI directly, but they are WHQL certified by MS so they might as well be offical. These drivers are promising a 5% speed increase and the control panel is updated as well. I'm downloading them right now and will report when I have tested them. So, all you ATI owners out there, "get 'em while they're hot!"
sincerely,
sx/amiga

From what I heard they're not the 3.3 Catalysts, more like an interim build between 3.2 and 3.3. And it's only for the 9700/9800 cards, so I can't test them here.

Well Dell is a reputable company and I have a 9700 pro (same as you dhkim) so I would guess that the only thing that the offical drivers will have, that these don't, is support for all the other ATI Radeon cards. Seems like a safe bet to try these, especially w/them already being WHQL certified by MS.
sincerely,

According to Rage3d.com the official drivers will be delayed. They got this bit of information from ATI:

We have encountered some minor difficulties in obtaining WHQL certification for drivers based on the 7.86 build version. At this time it seems that a fully unified CATALYST release may be postponed for a few weeks

yeah, that's right
but I pity for ati card owners lower than 8500. It won't be working with lower ati radeon cards.

Hey, if any of you guys have these drivers (3.3) and divx player 2.1, can you test to see if they enable the special post-processing acceleration option?

Good joke dhkim. But on a more serious note, best off leave these drivers alone unless you have a Dell computer. I tried to install them last night and all they did was mess up my computer and refuse to install. So, I, like you dhkim, will be waiting for the offical ATI drivers. Chalk ths one up to experience.
BTW, my PC is allright, I reinstalled my offical ATI Cat. 3.2 drivers and now every thing is like before.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

You're right yeloazndevil, they should have said something, but they didn't. That is why I did. So as to save others the grief that I had when I tried them. Hopefully they'll listen.
sincerely,
sx/amiga
