For the "Inferior drivers", I'll say it's an OLD storry concerning ATI. For my part, I'll say by experience (and because I own also a GF4) that NVIDIA has now inferior drivers than ATI. Eg. When I want to watch a DVD or use the TV/Video output for games or Video editing on 2 screens or overlay, my GF4 I has verry bad quality, work once or even doesn't work (random crashes). Except if I use a third party SW called TVTools (not free...and not perfect). Believe me or not, But I'm able to do my eMails on one screen and my daughter can play a PS game on the other (TV) with my ATI. Try to do that with the NVIDIA cards. That's also an important part of a driver set no?

yeah dkkimboa is right Hate Lady, run the detonator destroyer or the nvidia det 3x.xx to 4x.xx fix(thanks sxamiga for the tip about how to use this tool ) and remove the Nvidia registry remnants, also identify the .inf, .dll and .sys related to the nvidia drivers to assure that your system is like a fresh install.

Not really. What are you gonna use the AGP bandwidth for? The 9500 has more than ample texture memory.

Also, if Hate Lady's motherboard won't do any more than 2x AGP (some older boards won't) then that is all she'll get wether or not her card has 8x AGP capability or not. chp, I see what you are saying, and you are entitled to your opinion just as Hate Lady is entitled to hers. She is correct, let us not turn this into another ATI vs. Nvidia battle, when all it is really about is everyones different observances (such as yours) and other opinons or feelings such as Hate Lady's. If this starts to turn into a Another ATI vs. Nvidia (we've had enough of those already) debate or battle, I will close this thread. Phoenix, glad the Nvidia Det. fix is working out for you. I used it all the time w/my 4600. dhkimboa, glad you like your new "nick". It was easy to do and I didn't mind a bit. ChaosBlade, it may take 6 months between releases of Catalyst Drivers, but look how well they perform when they get here. Sometimes, a longer wait produces better results. sincerely, sx/amiga Last edited by sxamiga; May 4th, 2003 at 07:24. |

>30.xx to 40.xx fix - there's a special way to use it ? Well htey say to unstiall the 3x.xx, reboot, run hte fix, reboot and install the 4x.xx drivers, however I simply installed the 4x.xx then ran the fix and everything is hunky dory.
