Microsoft DirectX 9.0a redist available

I just tried it and surprisingly it gave me a noticeable (seriously) increase in framerate on my games (UT2k3 and... thats all I tried ).

Anyways, heres the link for XP:

ftp://ftp.mplik.ru/os/Multimedia/Dir...st_wxp_enu.rar

For 2000:

ftp://ftp.mplik.ru/os/Multimedia/Dir...st_w2k_enu.rar

Actually dx9a came out a while ago (I was the one who posted that), but this is the redistributable version that can be installed as is on any computer even though they may not have a connection to the internet. The original came in a no-good webinstall package.

D.D., got a quick ? for you. Is this any different than the first version that was released and then removed by MS? I've got that version and it is working fine for me. If this is the same, then I need not get it. But if it is different in any way, I want it. Thanks for any help w/this.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

ok, for those users w/ different OS, in the same folder of the W2k/XP DX9.0a redist, there'r the other redists for other OSs , here the link D.D. didn't post:

- W9x/ME > ftp://ftp.mplik.ru/os/Multimedia/Dir..._w9xme_enu.rar

- DX9 Control Panel > ftp://ftp.mplik.ru/os/Multimedia/Dir...trol-panel.zip

- DX9 Redist (not rared, 31MB, all OSs) > ftp://ftp.mplik.ru/os/Multimedia/Dir...x90_redist.exe

- DX9 Uninstall Pack for WinXP/.Net (this restores the original DX8 files from the XP/.Net installation CD) > ftp://ftp.mplik.ru/os/Multimedia/Dir...nXP_DotNet.rar

only 8MB (as quite for all the single versions D.D. and me posted) because they contain only the files for that OS version (so they don't work on other OSs, if u want a general DX9 redist, download the not rared one).

Sorry guys for taking me so damn long...had to hit the sack.

Anyways, SL, I forgot you were using ME, my bad, just use the link posted by gismo .

sxamiga, these I believe are no different from the one posted by MS, so I wouldn't bother downloading these if I were you.

Later guys, and thanx for the positive feedback!

Do you have to have DX9 installed first to use the 8MB files for DX9a?

 I already had DX9.0 on my OS, then I installed the complete redist (not rared, as I posted before), but nothing changed. And now, everytime I tried to install the 8MB files for DX9.0a, it gives me an error (it can't find a necessary file).

Thx, bye

Gismo you have installed the DX9.0 version not the 9.0a, in your dxdiag window it should say DirectX version: 9.0a and the number should be 4.09.0000.0901
I couldn't check the no rared redist, because the site is busy, but I suspect that the redist file is the DX9.0 one.
