Quick question -- just thought, does the PSP use a similar sound driver?

Nope. The PS2 mainly uses its IOP (the built-in PSX) as sound machine. The PSP doesn't have such a similarity.

*duh* Sorry bout the question. Just realized that the GTA series used the PSX chip for the radio tuning -- never occured to me that the IOP was the SPU.
