Talking New Detonator 41.80s (creative?)

Quote:
token from warp2search
Just got word from "anonymous" that Creative Europe has released brand new drivers for their line of NVIDIA Graphics Cards. These latest drivers are of version 41.80 dating back to 27th of November 2002 (11/27/2002).

Their full version is 6.14.1.4180 (win2k/xp) - making them the first DX9 compliant drivers (?) as previous drivers' full versions were 6.13.1.4xxx. The DXDiag app in DirectX 9 also says it supports DDI 9 - whereas 41.09 for example only showed them as supporting DDI 8...

Click on Read More to find out what cards are supported and where to download them

UPDATE: Farge spotted in the 41.80 .zip file that a file called "modes.txt" says: Version 42.00, 12/10/2002 - so could this be the next version to come out? Time will tell...

its first time that whit nVIDIA drivers I have no probs whit my AGP for this mobo, and they are really great, at least they didnt dissapointed me (except on file size ) and they are faster than my old 41.04 drivers :P (at least on this GF4mx440 ) I hope that the next omega drivers made something whit this drivers next release :P

I've just installed them, seems to work fine, I haven't done any more test so far, I'll test them later but why the drivers doesn't detect that my system has DX9? I had DX9 installed.

Phoenix, Shadow Lady is correct. By the drivers saying DX 8.1 or better, it is indicating that the drivers are detecting DX 9. Otherwise the drivers would probably be saying DX 8.1 installed.
The "or better" is referring to DX 9.
I am downloading them also. I'll test them as soon as I am able.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Are these Drivers 3d blaster cards only, or do they support all Nvida chipsets

TalkingANUS, no need to worry. These drivers are excellent and they are definately worth the download. Even though they are released by Creative, they work fine w/my Visiontek Xtasy GF4 TI 4600. I started out having a few problems w/OGL but I disabled Riva Tuner and got just as good performance with it disabled as I had when it was enabled and the OGL problems were gone. All because of these new drivers. I would say that due to their performance as well as being DX 9 compatible, they are a very worthwhile download.
sincerely,

dhkim, as far as I am concerned, yes they are better than the 41.09 Detonators (which I was using before I got these). I reccomend that you 'em a try. I don't think you'll regret it.
sincerely,

Chrisray:
1. decompress the drivers to any folder
2. deinstall current drivers and restart
3. when windows is asking for install drivers for the card select manually looking for drivers
4. select the folder where u decompressed the drivers
5. select ur kind of card
6. enjoy

BTW the only bad thing I found about this drivers is that the are not 100% compatible whit rivatuner :/

but whit the drivers tweaks + coolbits, its working good for me :]

Instead of making a post about it. But Nvidia 42.01 dets have been leaked. I've heard they are very good for benching. Dunno a whole lot about them honestly.

http://www.pc-extreme.de/downloads/

I honestly feel no need to try them currently.
