DirectX 9 release postponed

Quote:
MICROSOFT HAS POSTPONED the launch of DirectX 9 for a week. We said that DirectX 9 would officially be introduced on Thursday 12th but its plans have changed, we have learned.
The new "final date" is 19th of December, just before Christmas to make many Radeon 9700 and 9500 generations people happy.

One major application -- 3dmark 2003 is hidden by the nasty cold winds of an NDA that we won't sign.

We oughtn't to be too paranoid about this – we're sure Microsoft doesn't read the INQUIRER... µ

Ah, that sucks. I don't really need DX9 anyways.

Oh well, I waited for the release of DX 8.1 and I can wait for this release as well. The 19th of December is not that far off. Thanks for the new Shadow Lady.
sincerely,

It won't change anything for most people anyway, but I'll get it anyway ^^
I always update my sys with the latest release.

I'm constantly updating my system. But I'm gonna wait till I hear from other people if and/or how good it is with a non-DX9 video card.

sigh... the latest and greatest usually isn't the best thing, you know...

like IE 5.5 is better than 6.0... but IE 6.0 SP1 is good

Win98 better than ME

Winamp 3 over 2.81

and so forth
