Hi guys!
I'm just trying the new version (0.5.5) of this cool emulator!
First of all I have the updated romset for this release and I'm running the 64-bit version of emulator on my T500.
Here are the specs: Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 @2,80 GHz; RAM DD3 4,0 GB @1333 MHz; ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 VRAM 256MB PCIe16x; Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
But I have a great problem :-(
In the Plugin Selection option screen I CANNOT select the newest GpuDXV3 plugin (I think that it is the only one to run NAOMI 2 games without problems).. When I click on the video plugin select box I can only see and select the gpuOglv3 plugin... :-(
So I've tried to force the plugin recognition by setting it in the ini configuration file, but when I launch a game Demul crashes :-(
So, here are my questions:

- Is this a compatibility problem of emulator with Windows 7?
- Do I need to update the Catalyst version (my actual version is 9.7)?
- Are there any NAOMI 2 games which runs at decent speeds on Demul 0.5.5?

Thank you all in advance!

And don't worry about the plugins, gpuOglv3 is the best one. The DX caused me problems all the time.

I don't think to have a hardware so old...
Anyway, I have another bug to notice you:

I've tried to run the following NAOMI games: Power Stone and Zombie Revenge. All works fine and the graphic looks pretty at very good speed, but I CANNOT Insert Coins!!!
I've alredy set the padDemul plugin and configured it mapping all the buttons, but never works for me! I've pressed the SERVICE button, the TEST button, COIN button, but the result is the same! No Input :-(

What am I wrong?

ok heatblazer, but the problem is: how to set the in-game "free play" option if even the Service Button input does not work?
I've set the SERVICE key for both Jamma Joy1 and Global Key in the Game Pad configuration, but it doesn't work :-(
Have you tried with those specific games (Power Stone 1 and Zombie Revenge)?

Interesting. I have not. I have a similar problem with CAPCOM VS SNK 2. You can insert 1 coin and next coins did not count... So I set it to freeplay. But how can you set Zombierev to freeplay if the button is not working... beats me... I`ll try it asap when I get to my Winodws VISTA PC...

Trust me!
I have the SAME problem too in Capcom vs SNK 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 2. After the first coin I am UNABLE to insert more coins... So, I have managed the problem with the Service Menu - FreePlay workaround.
But how to play in Power Stone and Zombie Revenge if there is absolutely NO INPUT BUTTON working?

I guess the only almost impossible way is to hexedit the NVRAM of these games if you know which hex is the FREEPLAY setting.... but that is as close as... actually possible if you view other NVRAMS... hmmm good question you mention here....

Can you extract this into /Demul/NVRAM folder. Overwrite it. Try to boot the game then.
Attached Files
File Type: zip zombrvn.eeprom.zip (206 Bytes, 5 views)

Thank you heatblazer for help.
I've tried with your eeprom file, the INPUT bug persists, but there is a little difference during game booting.
After the NAOMI bios logo, I see three Jamma buttons entering from the upper screen portion and stopping in the center of the screen. There is some sort of Japanese text on the left of these buttons, but the entire animation hangs for a while. So the booting sequence continues to the attract screen as usual.
I've tried to push every button during the pop-in of the three Jamma buttons logo, but it makes no difference....
Any ideas about this?

Sad... I hoped that if I hexedit it the same way I saw in the eeprom of other free-play setings games it will be set to freeplay but I guess it`s the .SRAM which is huge as hell.... I`ll review the SRAM but I don`t feel I`ll be able to do much there...

Here goes nothing... try this SRAM. Extract it in /Demul/NVRAM and see if there will be any impact...

No change :-(
This is the "strange logo" at the FIRST booting screen when I use your eeprom-sram.

Maybe, is it a bios problem?
I am using the default one: Naomi epr-21578d (export)

EDIT: After the first boot, If I close Demul and re-open it, or if I reset the game, that strange screen disappears...

No idea... They`ll fix it in the next revision maybe or maybe they have not dumped the bios/roms well...
P.S. You can delete my eeprom/sram. Boot zombierevenge and the game will create the default files... So don`t worry.

Ok thanx.
I will wait for a new version... in the meanwhile I can test the complete romset to see if other games are affected by this bug.

You`ll find a strange bug in Rival Schools - Moero! Justice Gakuen - an incredible pissing sound in the boot. Try it but make sure your volume is down. It`s quite bad sound, seriously.

I have this same problem, did you manage to sort this? (I'm running Demul 0.5.5 on XP 32-bit with Radeon HD 4670 GPU with the latest drivers, if it matters)

Also, Has anyone got - Gun Survivor 2: Bio Hazard Code Veronica - working?
I can get to the Menu and insert coins, but then no button seems to start the game.

"Gun Survivor 2: Bio Hazard Code Veronica" is not working yet. I've seen some Demul WIP pics elsewhere, it will probably work in next version.
