I tried both 1.2 and 1.3 with ePSXe 1.7.0 and both are giving me the error "can't open cdrom unit". I trying playing around with the setting and nothing seems to help. I'm using Vista x64.

If you talking about setting it to one of the IOCTL modes in the config menu I tried that and it still gives me the same error.

I think putting it in the plugins folder got me a bio for config.
Where could I get a video config?

Great Job!! Thank you!

Thank you Sapu for your contribution of the v1.3 of your outstanding plugin! This is the first cdr plugin that gives me no glitches in video/sound. Everything run smoothly and synced and it feels like I'm turning my pc to psx for real!!! Together with the great work by Pete in his OGL2 plugin I have an incredible Quality result!
PS: PSX LIVES! (thanks to u)

SaPu, what is 1.2 and 1.3 compiled with? some people are having troubles loading the plugin, maybe due to a dependancy missing? (like a runtime redist)

They were both compiled using MS Visual Studio 97 in order to avoid dependancy problems. The only dependency is MSVCRT.DLL, but i hope this should be already present on any 'standard' windows installation...
Unluckly, i don't have a Vista x64 installation (i'm still using XP), so i cannot be able to investigate about RaMDaY's problem. Does anyone else has tried to use the plugin on Vista ?

I'll take a look and make sure my system has MSVCRT.DLL some where on it.

It appears that file is installed by Windows XP by default, and theres a SP3 version of it.

Maybe an issue with the multiple version in WinSxS so unpack the attached into the epsxe.exe folder
Attached Files
File Type: 7z msvcrt.7z (151.2 KB, 6 views)

It's not a 'missing DLL' problem, otherwise you cannot see the plugin in the 'cdrom plugins' list...
Don't know what changed on Vista x64, maybe a 'default' user does not have Administrator privileges? If this should be the case, you cannot see any disk unit (as you reported).
Try using 'Frog Rights' from Frog Aspi - Downloads and set access rights to Everyone, maybe this should helps...

Right click Epsxe and select run as admin may help, it may be UAC failing to elevate the application, its not a rare issue

dude... O_o nice PC. I was aiming for that in a laptop, but my budget was only 1500 so I went with the asus line of g50's. Bet you can blow the heck out of crysis! xD

I'm also running vista 64 bit and sapu's invention runs sweet on my machine. it works exactly half right as far as spin down (lol) but I'm pretty sure my dvd-rw drive isn't compatible with the spin down software cuz i've been looking for hours now. i CAN choose a limit speed for my drive, 8x is doing great- i CAN"T actually get it to never idle, it will just go from slow to idle instead of fast to idle.

You probably can achieve this. I had to go into Regedit and delete my top ends and low ends from my cddrive after much plugin stuff (it had disappeared from windows altogether.) Maybe your OS isn't recognizing your drive anymore?

I am running your plugin VERY well on vista 64, just for a lead, I think you should experiment with bundling cdrsapu 1.3.next with aspi 64 bit drivers as SOON as they come out. Until then, spindown probably won't be straight.

Squall-leonhart has it right, vista 64 bit users are out of this loop until the aspi driver for our dvdroms is out on 64 bit installation. Going to check nero now, will post again.

Thanks
