ZSNES is my fav snes emu, been a couple of versions I didn't like so I used an older version but perhaps this one is good.

Guess there's no escaping from the DOS-like GUI ;p

LOL You know.... I remeber when I saw this in 1998 and SNES 9x too. I`ve had a CD with over 600 games for SNES and... man... I`ve wasted my life there Lost my girlfriend, almost lost my education... and... now I am telling about ZSNES to everyone... ironic

No compatibility increases ever convinced anyone here to come any close to zsnes o灘ther than my person). There's a reason why everyone hates DOS-like GUIs, with a passion. A pretty major turnoff.

Apparently, quite a few people on the ZSNES board like the DOS like GUI. That is the only thing that is preventing me from using ZSNES as my primary SNES emulator. Last that I remember was that they're upgrading to the QT GUI, but I don't know when that is going to get implemented. :/

The ZSNES GUI is a classic. I would miss it.
This build is just 1.51 with support for the SPC7110 chip.

ZSNES 2 is being worked on with many things changed.

cool, Zsnes was the first emulator I have ever used and it is always cool to see it updated. As for the GUI, it never bothered me, but it would be nice to have an alternative (but at the end of the day I don't really care)

I`ll tell you another story:
The first ZSNES I`ve had, had some glitches. Chrono Trigger for example. When you reach the techno dome the screen went grey But! I was desperate, I wanted to play it so bad that I began pressing all buttons (from 1 to 0) and some kind of layer was enabled/disabled and the picture appeared! I was able to continue! It was a marvelous expirience

Thanks for the good news, personally I would rather use zsnes over snes9x any day of the week.

Zsnes still has glitches, that snes9x doesn't, and vice versa, the only way to get all games to run is to combine the 2.

That's not the point. The GUI makes navigating through the emulator annoying and not as responsive as other "standard" interfaces. Becomes annoying at times.

They are working on a new GUI, you can see the WIP of the GUI in the official ZSNES forums.

I saw that when checking their forums a while back. It looks nice.
