HyperSpin Emulation Frontend Will Be Released Today!

HyperSpin - Believe the Hype.

I've been keeping an eye on this frontend for a while now and I can't wait for the it's first public release sometime today. Anyone who likes console/MAME emulation frontends such as GameEX or Maximus Arcade should definitely check HyperSpin out. Though, it has a different approach then the other emulation frontends out there which sets it apart from the others.

I'll let the previews do the talking :

And check out some of the great themes that are made by the community over there:

I don't have a cab as of yet, but one of my goals is to definitely save up to build a media/game room in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future (if funds are right).

I may tinker with some theming once I learn how to use Flash...

I know enough flash to make ears wiggle.. See darkstalkers theme.
Umm all you need is some nice art and an idea and HS can do alot of the animating for you.

Oh, that's good to know, because I thought I had to be an expert in Flash make a theme. But I haven't actually tested it out myself to know that.

I know dude. I think I'm going to tell my girlfriend that I'm not coming over this weekend so that me and HyperSpin can have some alone time this weekend.

I am sure she will understand.

I am looking forward to seeing the release, and perhaps should my time permit it, make some themes of my own.

HyperSpin was released a while ago officially via Torrent. the file size is about 1,5GB(at least last time) and the frontend doesnīt work as many of you expect while watching the video but i have to admit itīs not that bad

It's 1.5 GB because of all of the custom themes/skins. I was actually quite impressed with the first version. I have to check to see what updates that they have made since then.

What do you mean by "Not working like you'd expect"? You can set up individual themes for individual games, you can get box art, videos, and wheel pictures for most games.

Not that I know of. It's designed for home MAME and emulator arcade cabinets mainly.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear that HyperSpin is currently at a stage where it's efficiently usable. Ya, you can set up some basic directories for stuff, but you have to scroll through a list of about 7,000 MAME roms until you get to the one you want. There's just no organization at the current stage, but of course it is a beta so I can't blame them or anything.

And now I play the waiting game.

I think that all you need is the executable itself and the main program files/main themes for various systems and you can just use that to run games from it that way, though, it won't be as pretty without the themes.
