Noone asking for betatesting and not proven capable enough of contributing will be accepted ever. Triple period and End.

Enough of the massive offtopic now.

Forgive me for asking Squall, but how are things going with the new version?

It has been a year since this announcement.

PS: I know you get this a lot but thank you so ****ing much for this emulator. It is absolutely the best. The Playstation 1 is my favorite system. Well, most of my favorite games have been ported to better consoles with better graphics but there are still several that haven't been so the best way to play them is on your emulator. Especially Silent Hill, Parasite Eve and FFIX.

But if you and Pete could possibly implement Perspective Correction I would play all of the originals on your emulator. The RE and FF series.
The jittery textures (or lack of a Z-Buffer, Perspective Correction) are the only things that bother me about the PS1. If there is any way, any way at all, that I can pitch in, let me know. My AIM is cleaver2787. My e-mail is kencleaver@gmail.com

A lot of people seem to believe that pSX is the best because it's easy to set up, but that's just stupid. If you're going to just play the regular Playstation with no filters or anything why not just play the actual console?
Please, don't give up on your project. I plan on donating $100 dollars to your program soon.

Also, I was thinking that maybe you guys could collaborate with Xeven. He's done some awesome things with his interface. I think if you collaborated with Xeven you could make a ****ing unbelievable emulator. Seriously, you guys are so talented, work together.

Take a look of some of my screenshots of his interface with some logos I made.

Silent Hill

Final Fantasy IX

What matters most is what the emulator can actually do, not some fancy custom interface imo.

If you had bothered using the search button, you'd know that perspective correction isn't possible, that Squall isn't the developper behind ePSXe, but a betatester (calb, galtor and _Demo_ are the devs), and as for the interface, who needs to see a picture of the game when all you want is play it ?

First of all, why are you being such a ****?
Second, I did 'bother' to search. I made a thread about it. And if you had 'bothered' to look at it, Pete Bernert said it is possible. Maybe not actual perspective correction but something similar.
Third, you're right, I should have known the developers alias's. But considering that Squall made the thread I just assumed, so sorry.
Fourth, that's your opinion, personally I like an intuitive interface without an extra dos window. To each his own man.

I've never been a fan of posting on internet forums, I love them I think they're a great invention, but since everyone are hidden behind the internet veil they tend to be rude as ****. I think I'll stick to lurking from now on.
And Raziel, what's the view like up there on your high horse?

Wasn't this thread made last month? It hasn't been a year yet.

Some people, like myself, like to have emulators on their laptops so that they can play on the go. Just because someone likes to play the system as it originally was, doesn't mean that they should play on the original conlsole. There are many other benefits of emulation. Having your games stored in one location as disc images for easy access and quicker loading, saves states, and almost limitless memory card storage to name a few. And some people don't have the luxury of having a good machine to run PS emulation with enhanced graphics.

Also, I didn't notice anything in Raziel's post that indicates that he was acting like a ****.

Remember this thread isn't to make request to the devs, it's about the status of the new version announced about 1 month ago, not 1 year. The next one that goes off topic wins a infraction.

Perspective Correction is Possible, but not via LLE, it would require a HLE graphics core/plugin design, and it wouldn't be half as compatible as the emulators LLE design,

Texture warping actually happened on the PS1 as well, it just wasn't noticeable due to the low output resolution of the ps1, the only way around this was when certain developers started using software level perspective correction,

In other words, Perspective correction just isn't worth the trouble for the small amount of games tht could benefit, as compared to the amount of games it would break.

Oh my god I'm so embarrassed. I could have sworn it said April 2007. I apologize. Yesterday was a really weird day for me. Thanks for that information Squall.

Whatever, I'll just deal with it.

Sorry again.

Meh, don't worry about it, it's no biggie.

Before September, likely.

Most importantly, it's done when it's done. Noone has a date in mind or could tell one (not even the authors know when it could be released)

I'd rather them take the time to make sure everything works than rush a release that's broken and everyone complains about. However, I do like it when devs post wip screenies every so often.

Guys, remember they said "Many things have been fixed and some more features should be included in another fix version that will be released shortly" on 2003, shortly for ePSXe team means 5 years, so don't worry and come back in 2013.

We are testing alot of games, is time consuming but on the good news is that we haven't found big problems so far the biggest one i found is a GTE (i think) problem in Vigilante 8, but now the game works it used to get stuck after a match and the frame rate was low even at 60 fps. some nice improvements are comming with this release so don't worry.
