Same here, it's nice to hear the coders taking up the emulator again.

Wow you post news of an update to a popular PS1 emulator and a lot of old members/moderators/administrators come out of hibernation/hiding.
![]() Hey liquid, if I remember correctly you used to be under a different username because I remember that avatar and user title "Ebichu". Were you previously referred to as Ryos or n_w452 or something similar?

Is that the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Sorceror's Stone in another region) in the left-most picture on the 2nd bottom row of the picture chart?
Wow! That's amazing! Thank God that ePSXe is back to increase the compatibility for more of the old PSX games. Funny thing was that I'd already thought that after the lack of updates since the release of version 1.60 the compatibility for all of the PSX games running on ePSXe were perfect. However this assumption came knocking down on my head after my young friend came over to my house with his first Harry Potter game for the PSX to try to run it on my computer, but I'd tried several versions of ePSXe and the game would always only halt & freeze or crash (can't remember which one) some time after we were starting a game from the menu or whatever. Some time after (probably months or 2 years after) I'd noticed in a compatibility list for the PSX games at probably another PSX emulator website (PSX?) that this game had exactly the same problems as I'd experienced. And even I'd noticed that there are still many other games that are incompatible on any of the PSX emulators. It was then that I'd realised that none of the PSX emulators could ever run any of those incompatible games properly, because they all rely on the same external plugins that many people had worked on. But there was a lack of work on these plugins, as well as most of the PSX emulators, too, so I'd thought with a great feeling of sadness that the PSX emulators would never ever run any of the incompatible games properly until this... Thank you, thank you, ePSXe programmers! Whoo! Thank you very much, the esteemed ePSXe coders! It seems that frankly the coders of the other competing PSX emulators even including the PSX one were only content to improve the compatibility of their programs up to the level of yours, but couldn't careless about improving further in that area. That was the kind of impression that I've gotten of them. But we're obviously VERY glad for you to keep improving the best PS emulator around the world! Now, I can't wait for you to release version 1.70 and tell my other friend about it, and then obviously to invite my younger friend (the one that I mentioned above) along with his Harry Potter game and to play it on my computer. Lol. But of course he can run it on his computer as his computer is faster than the one that he had at the time or whatever. *Note. And please do keep improving the compatibility for all PSX games running on the ePSXe to 100%. I think that is very important for that and all other emulators of the other systems, which exists. |

For harry potter Chamber of secret to avoid the crash just dont press anything in the first video intro. For ingame save often and use the speed limit while watching the cutscene dont press anything or it freezes again.

Well, its mostly in idea stage atm, so im tossing some ideas at the devs and if 1.8 comes to light, they might be incorporated.. the main idea i had was to get the built in cdrplugin to do some caching. especially since the CDRXeven and Sapu plugins no longer work on 1.7...
