Is this legit? I'm a bit skeptical so I'd like to hear a direct announcement from the author of pSX himself.

I'm a bit skeptical after the recent wave of fakes/photoshops so I hope everyone understands why.

Is there an official source where pSXAuthor has announced this, unless I hear something official from him I'm not going to have much hope and continue to be skeptical about it.

I thought pSXAuthor would of announced this himself and not some unknown member/third party I have never heard of.

pSX has been working on it. He has talked about it from time to time in #pcsx2.

Well from the forum it seems that it's PSX Author himself who has posted the pics.
So I guess it's true.

Yeah that reassures me, thanks.

I was being skeptical because we get members who throw fakes around or announce bogus projects and submit photo shopped emulators/screens even some which are poorly shopped.

Since you verified it I believe it now.

Any news on what the frames per second are, does it compare to PCSX2, does it require a beefy system like PCSX2 does as well?

It would be nice to know about those things.

Sometimes he just gives little hints in random topics on the pSX forums of what will be in future releases but he doesn't announce them formally. The only time he makes an announcement is when there's a new release.

You just had to take the limelight from little old pSX Author. Is it not good enough that you are seen as an emulation God amongst 10 year old noobs who don't own PS2s.

j/k ref. Don't ban me.

Judging from the shots, significant progress has been made. Very promising to see PS2 development besides PCSX2.

Wrong answer, Jarrett.

I am going to using this pcsx2 and pSX both. Pcsx2 rocks more but pSX is a promising as well. I am going to keep using PCSX2 forever but I will be happy to test pSX version just for fun.

Given that developers normally don't like those kind of questions (also to avoid comparisons), maybe it's too much to ask...

One could draw some conclusions from the pics, then wait for the proper release .
