I was going to ask that too, but then I thought that it was innapropriate to point that out.

Anyways, who doesn't love pSX Author?

Heh, heh, well, considering the 2 years + of great fun he's given me (and quite a lot of us), as TheCloud says - who doesn't?

thats highly unlikely, not that im blowing my own trumpet, but if you look on his forum, pSXAuthor says himself even when its working properly you will need a powerful machine to handle it.

One thing that will work in his favour is the fact he doesnt use a plugins system.

If it's all software like the ps1 emulation, then it'll be pretty damn slow. But also, possibly very accurate.

It uses gfx hardware for the GS emulation - there is no way a pure software emulation of PS2 is going to be fast enough any time soon

I can't see a software renderer for a PS2 emulator being practical at all.

I'm glad that it will continue to rely on it's own workings and not plugins. If pSX is any indication of what that could mean, then another very good PS2 emulator will be here someday.

well if you want an indication of how good a software plugin is, try the one built in to GSDX, its slow (but optimized) but about as fast as its gonna get

"how good a software plugin is"
Well modularity is one of the best things on software development...
The main (the best) sotware that we use is composed by "plugins"

you missed the point exactly. i was referring to gsdx when i said "plugin" in pSX's case it would be integrated, but to be honest the plugin interface drag would be minor compared to the amount of usage the software renderer would consume.

that´s true

i think is great to make people clear we are not here to compete each others or to show who´s best.. just as refraction sayd we are a community and as community we should work together.

Thats great guys. Over at another community (I wont mention it's name..), theres so much competition and drama.
To put it simple, source code of a game gets released, community is born, source ports appear, and now there is competition on who has the best source port, they start closing the source, trusting nobody, and being a bunch of jerks.

Maybe I'll spend more time here.

??? And this has what to do with Playstation 2 emulation in pSX, Qwin?

AFAICS the Compatibility Lists for pSX have 2 of the Tony Hawks games working, and 2 not. If you've got issues with this, maybe you should post in a more appropriate place and perhaps a little more coherently?
