great to see, was there any word on the new PSX emulation features/fixes? There's still a lot of room there in that department to be fixed, i think~

Sweet, nice to see some shots after all the subtle talk in the pcsx2 chan. When I saw the title I was expecting to see BAM screenshots. Very nice work. It would be rad if he had plugin support.

pSX is like no$gba. pSX can run both PS One & PS2 games unlike PCSX2 can not.

When I asked him in irc, he told me that he intends to use the same approac as in pSX. That is, no plugins.

Thanks for the tidbit. But isn't that revealing a bit too much about it? Oh well, I guess he may announce a thing or two soon... since he was generous enough to show us some pics. Seems like PCSX2 finally has a friend. Not a rival, but a friend... or maybe even a brother/sister since YOU helped out with pSX, nah?

Some people see friendly emulators in the same category (or emulating the same systems) as rivals. But yeah, I know. It's BEST that you guys work together, because then we will see better and faster results.

exactly, we work better as a team than as rivals.

This is great news. pSX is such an excellent, solid emulator. Hopefully it brings the same ease of use, simplicity and quality to PS2 emulation (PCSX2 does great things, but its quite complicated, many different plugins etc)

Yup very good news indeed, pSX is my favorite playstation emu, love the simplicity and accuracy, currently replaying FFVII without a hitch.

Now heres a wish It'll actually work on my PC.

Pretty cool, but I hope that PS1 emulation on pSX still gets plenty of attention.. it has quite a bit of room for improvements still.

I'm a bit skeptical after the recent wave of fakes/photoshops so I hope everyone understands why.

Is there an official source where pSXAuthor has announced this, unless I hear something official from him I'm not going to have much hope and continue to be skeptical about it.

I thought pSXAuthor would of announced this himself and not some unknown member/third party I have never heard of.
I've talked a while ago with pSXAuthor on an irc channel, and he told me his WIP was running some non-3D PS2 games full speed (bust a move IIRC) and he also told me he was currently working on FFX. So yes, it certainly is legit.

However he also told me that even tho it's more documented than PS1, PS2 is incredibly complex so I wouldn't expect full PS2 support very soon, but it's really is nice to see it's progressing. I hope he won't give up.

I love you pSXAuthor

More comments from Mr Author - looks like there's some way to go yet.

But, if his success with Playstation emulation in pSX is anything to go by, when Playstation 2 emulation finally comes, it may be considerably less resource intensive than PCSX2.
