It has not been canceled, but we (the public) have not received much news on it lately, going to have to do the old, wait and see.

Gekko is going to be better anyway. The people over at the gekko forums actually let you know what's going on with their emulator and do not leave you alone in the dark about it.

Its not really who is best... Gekko still has alot to do to be as good as the Dolphin x64 DC build

well what i don't understand, is that not much information is given about the 64 build,
i.e the current speeds, what 64 bit OS runs better, xp ,vista64 etc

Well no work is being made on it right now. So I dont know if it'll ever be released...
As for speed, it's fast. Say around 22-24 with Wind Waker outside (30FPS beign fullspeed) Also, I dont think you would see a noticeable difference between XP64 and Vista64 for the speed... (unless your running Vista on the minimum requirements...)

So you're telling us that there is a version of dolphin that is out there that is very playable and they are just sitting on it, what a shame.

I would hardly call any gamecube emulator "playable" but meh... thats my opinion. But yes the authors and Dolphin betatesters have this version and it is really up to the authors if they want to release it or not. They don't owe us anything.

lol I signed up here just to view the (great) pictures. not to be a git or anything, but what is the harm of releasing it? if little work is being done on it might as well release it...like with the last version of dolphin. sorry for being annoying :P

If it's released though many zelda fans will cry for joy

Unless im mistaken it still has the telescope freeze.

And they will release it when they are ready, saying things like 'it couldnt hurt' never sways a devs decision, just annoys them.

The emu author used to say Dolphin still doesnt accept the code whenever Link have something in the inventory. So still freeze when having telescope.
